When you registered for PAYE, you would have set up an online account with HMRC. You normally log into your account as shown below. These are the details you need to enter into Shape Payroll to be able to submit RTI information to HMRC.
In Company Setup, you need to enter your gateway User ID and password. They need to be identical to what you would enter into the HMRC gateway. Below is the gateway credential section if no details have been entered.
Government Gateway User ID
This is the user ID your company uses to sign into the Government Gateway. It is normally 12 digits long.
Government Gateway Password
This is the password your company uses to sign into the Government Gateway. They need to be identical to what you use to sign in to view your PAYE account within your government gateway account. For security reasons, you cannot view your password within Shape Payroll.
Without this information, you will not be able to submit your RTI's to HMRC. If you are having issues submitting to HMRC, this is normally the main cause. Please see RTI: Authentication Error for further guidance if you continue to have issues.
Update Password
You may need to update the government gateway password if you have:
Updated the password for your government gateway account;
Entered the wrong password.
Click the Change Password box and you can re-enter the password and save.
