Your data is stored securely on our servers in the UK. All data is encrypted during transit, and sensitive data is encrypted at rest. Our team regularly review our hosting and data storage to ensure Industry best practices are followed and to prevent any unauthorised access.

Like any big tech company we use rolling updates to deploy changes across our fleet of servers to ensure our services are available at all times.

The process is robust enough for our development team to use continuous delivery to deploy changes several times daily without disruption.

Shape regularly undertakes external penetration testing with CREST approved testers.

At Shape Payroll we take data protection and cyber security very seriously. Occasionally, there may be something that our expert team haven’t yet spotted and inline with best practice we encourage responsible disclosures of any security or data protection issues you may find.

To help with this, we offer a bug bounty for the responsible disclosure of previously unknown issues. This bounty is payable entirely at the discretion of the Shape management team who will assess any reported disclosures for their impact. Our platform is build with constant availability as a core objective.

All servers are auto scaling and auto healing to ensure there is always capacity to meet demand.

We use several independent monitoring systems to help ensure that the platform is up when you need it and to help us quickly pinpoint issues should they arise.

Our development team use continuous delivery with rolling updates to ensure that updates are released to our production servers without downtime.

We charge you a monthly subscription fee to use our service. This is charged when your free trial ends and every month after that.

Your subscription plan includes the cost of paying a set number of employees. You can however pay as many employees as you want, and we will charge you an additional fee for each extra employee.

An employee is a distinct person that you pay in a month.

No. If you have employees registered in the system that are not paid regularly, for example ‘bank staff’ who cover sickness and holiday you will only be charged if you pay that employee in a month.

A company is an employer for HMRC purposes. That is, it is an entity with its own PAYE reference that makes payments to employees.
